Went for an interesting excursion to MY SON today.  My Son "pronounced mee sone" is an ancient Hindu religious site from the late 4th century built by the Cham people to honour the well armed god Shiva.  It lasted close to a thousand years of continuous occupation the longest period of development of any city in the Mekong region. Only about twenty structures survive where 68 once stood due to indiscriminate carpet bombing by American B52's in 1969.  One of the interesting things to see were all the shell craters that still dot the landscape.  My Son is nestled in a lush valley surrounded by mountains and dotted with springs and small streams.
